Eastern Regional Centre for Simulation-Based Training has been inaugurated at ERRH today on 27th April 2023.
The inauguration ceremony was presided over by venerable hospital Lam, Medical Superintendent and JICA TCP Project Coordinator in the presence in Hon’ble President and Registrar from the Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan (KGUMSB) and attended by senior medical officials, nursing incharges and administration staffs of ERRH.
The project is supported by JICA Technical Cooperation Project in collaboration with KGUMSB titled “Strengthening Medical Education in Bhutan”. The Centre shall provide a state-of-the-art facility that encourages the learners to achieve a high level of competencies, promote innovative teaching-learning by integrating simulation-based education into traditional methods, improve the quality of care, patient safety, and outcome with advanced knowledge and skills through high-quality simulation-based training and advance evidence-based practice by simulation based education to ensure high reliability and sustainability in healthcare in Bhutan.
To further maximize the utilization of equipment, the university is providing training to 12 nursing staff and 1 Emergency Medial Responder of the hospital.
With this, the University also handed over ICT Equipment i.e. Smartboard, PTZ camera and shot throw projectors to enhance medical education in regional hospital.
