Today, the Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan (KGUMSB) celebrated its 2nd Convocation at the Royal Thimphu College. The event marked the University’s achievements and the contributions it has made to the development of the Bhutanese healthcare system, particularly in delivering equitable and quality healthcare services to the people of Bhutan.
The ceremony was graced by Lyonpo Tandin Wangchuk, Honorable Minister of Health and Chairperson of the University’s Governing Council. In his address to the graduates, Hon’ble Health Minister underscored the critical role healthcare professionals play in ensuring that every Bhutanese, regardless of their location, has access to the health care they need. As the graduates join the health and medical fraternity, the Hon’ble Minister encouraged them to work towards building a healthier and prosperous future for all, and to contribute meaningfully to the overall goals and aspirations of our nation.
The first convocation of KGUMSB was held in 2019. Since then, a total of 1609 students have graduated from the University across various health disciplines from its constituent faculties and affiliated private nursing institutions.
KGUMSB extends its heartfelt congratulations to all the graduates and wishes them the very best in their future endeavors.
