The Seminar on Medicine and Compassion kicked off today at the Multipurpose Hall, Faculty of Traditional Medicine. The inaugural session was graced by His Excellency Lyonpo Tandin Wangchuk, Minister of Health and Chairperson of the University Governing Council.

Following the inauguration, Dr. David R. Shlim gave a presentation on the “Definitions and Origins of Compassion” in the context of Vajrayana Buddhism.

His Eminence Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche then delivered a talk on the “Nature and Benefits of Compassion,” encouraging participants to integrate compassion into their daily lives.

Approximately 200 participants from KGUMSB, National Medical Services, and the Ministry of Health are attending the seminar, which will conclude on 13th October 2024.
