Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan (KGUMSB) in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and UNICEF starts an exciting yet challenging journey of establishing a Centre of Excellence for Nutrition (CoEN).
The First official meeting of the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) and the Technical Working Group (TWG) was convened on 24th August, 2024 to finalize the governance document and Implementation framework.
CoEN is expected to yield the following outcomes upon its successful establishment:
1. Generate evidence based information for policy and programmatic interventions through research.
2. Enhanced technical expertise and knowledge through professional development activities.
3. Advancement of Diagnostic Technology to ensure early detection of Nutrition Deficiency Diseases (NDDs) thereby reducing the NDDs and contribute towards achieving the national goal of Happy Drukyul.
CoEN is expected to become functional from October 2024.
