In-country Scholarship Announcement

The Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan (KGUMSB), is pleased to announce the availability of in-country scholarship (fully funded) for 2026 intake, as detailed below: 


Course Name: Bachelor’s in Nursing and Midwifery 

Course Date: 1st August 2026 to 31st July 2028 

Training Institute: Faculty of Nursing and Public Health, KGUMSB. 

Place: KGUMSB, Thimphu, Bhutan 

Funding Modalities: Tuition fee waiver 

Funding Agency: Faculty of Nursing and Public Health (FNPH) 

Mode of Study: Mixed Mode 

Slot: 1


This is ONLY for the full-time faculty members of Faculty of Nursing and Public Health (FNPH), KGUMSB. The terms and conditions stated under Long Term Training in the Condition of Services – 2025 shall be followed. 


1. Eligibility 

Employee shall be eligible for long term training, if he/she: 

1. Is a Bhutanese citizen; 

2. Is a Regular employee of the University; 

3. Is less than or equal to 50 years of age at the point of application; 

4. Relevant to the current position of work; 


2. Disqualification 

An employee shall not be eligible for long-term training when: 

a. His/Her scholarship granted previously was terminated by the university/institutes/granter for violation of training and/or other related rules and regulations; 

b. He/She has been nominated/short-listed for another training program, pending the declaration of result; 

c. Not directly relevant to the current post/profession; 

d. Training program was previously discontinued due to reasons within his/her control; 

e. An employee is on contract, EOL and Secondment; 

f. Pursuing more than one LTT of the same level/degree; 

g. He/She fails the drug test; 

h. He/She has not completed the training gap requirement after availing STT/LTT; 

i. Adverse record or convicted by court of law for criminal offences. 


Interested applicants from FNPH, KGUMSB may kindly submit the following documents to the HR Division – Office of the President, by 7th April 2026 (5PM) along with the following documents: 

1. Inservice Training Form (As per the CoS – 2025) 

2. A copy of Class XII and Degree Certificates and Transcripts 

3. CV (Contact Details, Detailed information about the qualification history, service history and training details) 

4. Performance Rating

5. Recommendation Letter from the Head of the Faculty/Office 

6. Sacnned copy of valid Security Clearance Certificate 

7. Valid Audit Clearance Certificate copy 

8. Scanned copy of valid Citizenship Identity Card (both sides) 

9. Valid Medical Fitness Certificate copy issued by a competent RGoB medical doctor 


Note: 

The candidates will be screened by KGUMSB and only 1 eligible candidates will be selected to pursue the Bachulars in Nursing and Midwifery. For further information or clarification please contact HR Division at 17112603 during office hours
