The Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan (KGUMSB) is conducting a Health Research Methodology Training for teaching faculty and staff of the Central Regional Referral Hospital in Gelephu and Eastern Regional Referral Hospital in Mongar. The two-batch training program, which commenced on 15 December 2025 in Samdrup Jongkhar, will conclude on 27 December 2025. The program is designed to strengthen the research competencies of health professionals at CRRH and ERRH with a strong emphasis on practical application, including the use of REDCap for data management and STATA for statistical analysis. 

Resourced by the experts from MECRIT and FNPH, a total of 50 participants, comprising doctors, clinical nurses, and medical technologists from CRRH, ERRH and Samdrup Jongkhar hospital are currently undergoing the training. Throughout the program, participants are engaged in a blended learning approach that includes face-to-face lectures, interactive discussions, and intensive hands-on sessions. They have developed their own research questions and protocols, designed data collection tools using REDCap, and gained skills in data interpretation through descriptive statistical analysis. 

The training is delivered in a highly collaborative environment, supported by dedicated mentors who provide personalized guidance to each participant. This initiative reflects KGUMSB’s continued commitment to strengthening the national health and medical research platform and to generating robust evidence that supports health agencies in planning innovative interventions and advancing health system development.
