On 24th July 2025, Medical Education Centre for Research, Innovation and Training (MECRIT) and Faculty of Nursing and Public Health (FNPH), Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan (KGUMSB) had the privilege of hosting officials from the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) and the Sitaram Bhartia Institute of Science and Research (SBISR). The session featured an in-depth discussion on the vital micronutrient research project, an initiative aimed at addressing micronutrient deficiencies, particularly among pregnant women, and examining their impact on child development. The project’s emphasis on strengthening research capacity through training, fostering multidisciplinary collaboration, and co-developing community-focused interventions to shape health policy and enhance child health outcomes is well aligned with our institutional mission.

This collaboration with PHFI and SBISR is particularly valuable as it offers significant scope for strengthening KGUMSB’s research centers enhancing the research skills in faculties contributing towards nutritional intervention and health system development
