KGUMSB and Health and Medical Research Centre (HMRC) at Central Regional Referral Hospital successfully completed two days of enumerator training on KAP survey for dengue prevention and control at Vector-borne Disease Control Programme conference hall in Gelephu on 18-19th July, 2025. The aim of the survey is to assess the knowledge and dengue prevention practices among community members in Phuentsholing, Gelephu and Samdrup Jongkhar Thromdes and migrant workers entering through these immigration points.

For this research project, the enumerators were mobilized among the health workers from Samdrup Jongkhar Hospital, Phuentsholing Hospital, CRRH and VDCP to create learning platforms and opportunities for research exposure for health workers to contribute towards growth of Health and Medical research community in Bhutan. The primary aim of training enumerators from these hospitals is to build their capacity in functioning as a data collectors, not only for this project but for other research projects in the future. The enumerators were trained on the use of MyCap, a mobile phone application for data collection. The data collection function in MyCap is built using REDCap, a platform that was installed at the Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan in June 2025. MyCap is a user-friendly app for the data collectors while the research technical team can build in data entry quality checks through REDCap.

The findings of this research will be made available in the coming months after completion of data collection and data analysis. The information will be useful for the Ministry of Health and other relevant agencies to plan interventions and public advocacy on the prevention of dengue fever in the country.
