The 18th session of the Governing Council of the Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan (KGUMSB) was convened on 17th May 2025 at the Conference Hall, KGUMSB. The session was chaired by His Excellency Lyonpo Tandin Wangchuk, Minister of Health.
The council meeting was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Finance, heads of teaching hospitals, university officials, and student representatives.
A key highlight of the session was the presentation and discussion of the Organizational Development Exercise (ODE) report, which was conducted by a team comprising officials from the Royal Civil Service Commission (RCSC) and representatives from KGUMSB. The report aimed to assess and strengthen institutional structures and processes within the University.
Other major agenda items included discussions on student obligations, and the proposal for a unified presidency for KGUMSB and the Jigme Dorji Wangchuck National Referral Hospital (JDWNRH).
The session concluded with resolutions to further enhance academic and administrative efficiency, with a continued focus on aligning the University’s goals with national health and education priorities.
