On 8 April 2025, Mr. Charles Mahy, Counsellor for Health and Social Policies and a delegation member from the Embassy of France in India, visited the Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan (KGUMSB). They were part of the delegation accompanying H.E. Dr. Thierry Mathou, Ambassador of France to India, who was on an official visit to Bhutan.
During the meeting with officials from the Office of the President and the constituent faculties of KGUMSB, Mr. Mahy engaged in discussions to explore potential avenues for future collaboration between the University and French institutions.
The conversations focused on strengthening Bhutan’s medical education system through capacity building initiatives, exchange programs, and support for innovative teaching and learning. Emphasis was also placed on joint research opportunities and academic partnerships in areas of mutual interest, particularly in the fields of medical education development.
The visit marked an important step towards fostering academic and professional ties between KGUMSB and France in the health and medical education.
