On 27 June 2024, the Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan (KGUMSB) and Zhung Dratshang renewed their collaboration by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for another five-year to continue training monks from Zhung Dratshang in Traditional Medicine academic programs under Faculty of Traditional Medicine (FoTM) . Currently, 9 monks from Zhung Dratshang are undergoing Bachelors and Diploma courses. The first batch of Diploma trainees are due for the completion of their course in July this year. The parties also expressed joint commitment to strengthen and foster collaboration in expanding the knowledge of Traditional medicine (Sowa Rigpa) in monastic institutions.
