25th August 2025 — The Registrar and a team of officials from the Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan (KGUMSB) hosted representatives from Edith Cowan University (ECU), Australia, led by Dr. Tania Beament of Nursing and Midwifery School to further strengthen academic collaboration between the two institutions.
The meeting discussed the implementation of the 2-by-2 Nursing Programs, a model approved by Australia’s Nursing Accreditation Agency. Both sides also explored future collaboration in public health, allied health, and clinical counselling, as well as possible PhD opportunities for KGUMSB faculty.
Key areas of agreement included program accreditation, credit transfer, and support in curriculum development through shared expertise. These initiatives aim to enhance the quality of education and professional development opportunities for both students and staff.
KGUMSB and ECU had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2021, and this engagement marks another important step in deepening their partnership in medical and health sciences education.
