The International Conference on Medical and Health Sciences (ICMH) is the premier annual scientific event hosted by the Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan (KGUMSB). It serves as a vital global platform for healthcare professionals, researchers, academicians, and policymakers to exchange knowledge and foster cross-border collaborations.
Purpose and Objectives

Organized by the Medical Education Centre for Research, Innovation and Training (MECRIT), the conference focuses on three core pillars:

  • Knowledge Dissemination: Providing a scientific stage for local and international experts to present cutting-edge research findings
  • Professional Development: Offering Bhutanese health professionals an annual opportunity to update their clinical and academic competencies
  • Policy & Innovation: Fostering evidence-based discussions to address emerging health challenges and strengthen the national health system

Themes and Academic Program

Each year, the ICMH centers on a theme critical to contemporary medicine, ensuring the discourse remains relevant to global and national health trends. The conference features a diverse academic program, including:

  • Keynote & Plenary Sessions: Insights from distinguished global and local health leaders
  • Scientific Sessions: Oral and poster presentations of peer-reviewed abstracts showcasing original research
  • Pre-conference Workshops: Intensive, hands-on training in specialized areas such as Pedagogy, Research Methodology, and Emergency Life Support
  • Hybrid Engagement: A flexible format accommodating both in-person and virtual participation to ensure inclusive global reach

As KGUMSB's flagship event, the ICMH continues to bridge the gap between research and practice, ensuring that Bhutan's healthcare evolution is driven by innovation, equity, and evidence.
