Department of Planning and Strategic Developement

Mr. Sonam Dorji is a professional with experiences in the civil service of Bhutan, having held key positions across the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Home Affairs.

He holds a Master in Human Resources from Curtin University, Australia, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration from the Royal Institute of Management, Bhutan. His professional development is further enriched through specialized trainings in leadership, management, innovation, policy formulation, monitoring and evaluation, and advocacy from reputed institutions in Bhutan, India, Australia, the Philippines, and the Netherlands, highlighting his commitment to continuous learning and professional excellence.

He assumed the role of Director, Department of Planning and Strategic Development under Office of the President at KGUMSB in May 2024. In this capacity, he leads the University’s strategic planning, organizational development, human resource reforms, infrastructure development, and oversees the administration and operations of the Office of the President.
