Established on December 31, 2021, with support from the JICA Technical Cooperation Project, the AVC is a cornerstone of KGUMSB’s commitment to modernizing medical education. The centre is designed to bridge the gap between traditional instruction and digital innovation, ensuring academic continuity through high-quality, contextualized e-learning resources. The AVC serves as the production hub for the university’s OpenKGUMSB virtual platform. By developing in-house instructional materials such as procedural videos, demonstrations, and recorded lectures, the university reduces dependency on external copyrighted content while embracing emerging technologies like Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR).

Services 

The AVC primarily supports the production of curriculum-based courses and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for healthcare providers.

Internal Use (Faculty & Staff) 

The centre assists course coordinators in producing educational materials. 

  • Requirements: Users must submit a Requisition Form along with finalized scripts and teaching materials at least one week in advance.
  • Preparation: Users should be fully prepared for filming prior to their scheduled session. 
  • Non-Teaching Use: Support for university administrative materials requires approval from the AV Committee.

External Use (Partner Agencies) 

Subject to approval, external parties may hire the AVC for the creation of educational or public awareness content.

  • Equipment & Expertise: Rental includes access to the studio space, state-of-the-art equipment, and technical expertise. 
  • Terms: Requests must be submitted via the AV Request Form. Late returns or cancellations (less than 48 hours' notice) will incur charges as per university policy.
