Admission Announcement – Academic Year 2026 (MBBS)

The Faculty of Undergraduate Medicine (FoUGM), Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan (KGUMSB), is delighted to announce the admission date for the 2026 academic year.

All selected candidates for the MBBS program at KGUMSB, 2026 intake, are hereby informed to report to Taba Campus as per the details below. (Selection was based on the pre-service/undergraduate scholarship interview conducted by RCSC in February 2025.)

Reporting Date: Monday, 2nd February, 2026

Reporting Time: 09:30 am – 03:00 pm

Location: Faculty of Undergraduate Medicine, Taba Campus, Upper Taba, Thimphu

General Information

  1. The students are instructed to report with their parent/legal guardian on the reporting date.
  2. The students will have to attend the mandatory pre-course orientation program scheduled from 4th February 2026 onwards.
  3. The formal classes will commence from 9th February 2026.
  4. Additional information will be shared after the admission

Documents/items required at the time of reporting: 

  1. Duly filled Admission Form for the Year 2026
  2. Class XII Original mark sheet & photocopy
  3. Class X original mark sheet & photocopy
  4. Original School leaving certificate & photocopy
  5. Citizenship Identity Card photocopy
  6. Recent passport-size photo (2 Nos.)
  7. Legal stamp (3 Nos.)
  8. Undertaking form to be signed by the parent/legal guardian during admission

The students are required to make the following payments

  1. Faculty of Undergraduate Medicine development fund: Nu. 1800 (for six years)
  2. Security money deposit (refundable): Nu. 6000
  3. Mess Money (First month): Nu. 3000 

Total amount: Nu-10800/-

Hostel Requirements:

  1. Bucket 1
  2. Water Jug 1
  3. Soap case 1
  4. Washing brush
  5. Plate, cup, mug and spoon for personal use
  6. Broom (hard and soft) 1 each
  7. Pillow 1
  8. Pillow cover 2-3 Nos.
  9. Blanket and quilt with cover 1-2 Nos.
  10. Bed sheet 2-3 Nos

General Requirements:

  1. Gho and Kira
  2. Lagay for boys (minimum-2-3 pairs)
  3. Tego/Gong for boys (minimum 2-3 nos.)
  4. Wonju and Tego for girls (minimum 3 -6nos.) 
  5. Black shoes (formal) no heels (minimum 2 pairs)
  6. Bath towel  1 no.
  7. Face towel 1 no. 
  8. Bathroom slippers
  9. Black/Navy blue socks for gents (minimum -2 pairs)
  10. Sports shoes and attire as required
  11. Rachu for girls
  12. Kabney for boys
  13. Stationaries as required
  14. White laboratory coat
  15. BoB account number to be opened and TPN Number to be obtained. 

Note: The student needs to pay the following from the stipend:

  1. Mess Nu 3000 /monthly from the stipend
  2. Monthly hostel rent 10% of the stipend (Nu 500)
  3. Utility bills

Ensure that you arrive within the specified reporting time frame to complete the necessary formalities.
