{"id":4446,"date":"2022-07-15T13:18:48","date_gmt":"2022-07-15T07:18:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kgumsb.edu.bt\/?p=4446"},"modified":"2022-07-15T13:18:48","modified_gmt":"2022-07-15T07:18:48","slug":"announcement-for-research-method-training","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kgumsb.edu.bt\/?p=4446","title":{"rendered":"Announcement for Research Method Training"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Announcement for Research Method Training<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bhutan Health Journal, Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan in collaboration with the Australian National University in Australia is conducting a research method training virtually every Friday from 22<sup>nd <\/sup>July 2022 for a period of 6 weeks at 4-6 pm BST.<br \/>\nNumber of available slots: 10<br \/>\nEligibility: Health background<br \/>\nAll interested faculties from KGUMSB and the teaching hospitals can apply. Other participants will be offered seats depending on the availability of seats.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aims and Objectives<\/strong><br \/>\nThe aim of this study is to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to develop a research proposal for undertaking public health research.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Specific objectives are:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Develop a clearly defined rationale of study and formulate explicit study objectives and\/or research questions based on the literature review.<\/li>\n<li>Understand different study designs and methods, and their advantage and disadvantages for investigating public health problems.<\/li>\n<li>Develop a feasible research plan including logistics and timelines, roles and responsibilities of team members, and anticipated challenges\/risks in conducting the study.<\/li>\n<li>Effectively communicate research methods and results to a scientific audience, and prepare to lay communities and potential participants to participate in a research study.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Outcome<br \/>\n<\/strong>At the end of this course, participants are expected to develop their research proposal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Course methodology<\/strong><br \/>\nThe course will be delivered as two-hour online teaching on each topic. Participants will develop a proposal of parts covered in the preceding lecture in the next one week. In the following week, the participants will share their work through a presentation for feedback and fine-tuning of their proposal.
