7th May 2026:<\/strong> A simple ceremony was held to present a Token of Appreciation to the Founding President, Dr. K P Tshering, and to acknowledge three PhD scholars who successfully completed their doctoral studies in Japan and returned to serve the University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Token of Appreciation was presented during the 11th Foundation Day of the University in recognition of Dr. K P Tshering\u2019s visionary leadership and immense contributions in establishing and shaping the University under the University Act 2012. During his decade of leadership, he strengthened academic excellence, governance, research, infrastructure, and human resource development, leading the University towards national recognition and academic maturity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The University also congratulated the following scholars, who pursued their PhD studies under the JICA Scholarship through the Technical Cooperation Project:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Dr. Deki Pem\u00a0\u2013 PhD in Nursing,\u00a0Juntendo University Graduate School, Japan<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Dr. Passang Lhamo Sherpa\u00a0\u2013 PhD in Public Health (Molecular Epidemiology),\u00a0Oita University, Japan<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Dr. Phurpa\u00a0\u2013 PhD in Basic Sciences (Molecular Neuroscience),\u00a0Oita University, Japan<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    The Hon\u2019ble President graced the ceremony and congratulated Dr. K P Tshering for his visionary leadership and the scholars for their dedication and successful completion of their PhD programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Dr. K P Tshering dedicated the recognition to all employees of KGUMSB and the members of the Governing Council for their continued support and cooperation. The PhD scholars also expressed gratitude to the University leadership for their guidance and support throughout their academic journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
