The training formed part of Bhutan\u2019s Structured and Mentoring Approach to Research Training (BSMART) &#8211; a locally adapted model inspired by the global SORT-IT framework to build operational research capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-2 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"240743\" src=\"http:\/\/new.kgumsb.edu.bt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/pics3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-240743\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"240745\" src=\"http:\/\/new.kgumsb.edu.bt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/pics5.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-240745\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Through interactive lectures, group discussions, and hands-on sessions using EpiData, STATA, and Zotero, among others &#8211;  participants learned to develop research protocols, manage and analyze data, and uphold ethical research standards. Pre- and post-training assessments showed marked improvement in participants\u2019 understanding of research design and statistical reasoning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the completion of these mop-up sessions \u2014 along with four earlier batches conducted earlier in 2025, MECRIT has now trained a wide range of professionals, including faculty from Aurora Academy of Health Sciences and research staff from the National Council Secretariat.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/new.kgumsb.edu.bt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/pics6.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-240752\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Altogether, nearly 95% of KGUMSB faculty and JDWNRH staff have now been oriented in basic health research methods.
