{"id":239491,"date":"2024-08-25T20:06:28","date_gmt":"2024-08-25T14:06:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kgumsb.edu.bt\/?p=239491"},"modified":"2026-02-24T11:36:52","modified_gmt":"2026-02-24T11:36:52","slug":"centre-of-excellence-for-nutrition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kgumsb.edu.bt\/index.php\/2024\/08\/25\/centre-of-excellence-for-nutrition\/","title":{"rendered":"CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE FOR NUTRITION"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan (KGUMSB) in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and UNICEF starts an exciting yet challenging journey of establishing a Centre of Excellence for Nutrition (CoEN).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The First official meeting of the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) and the Technical Working Group (TWG) was convened on 24th August, 2024 to finalize the governance document and Implementation framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CoEN is expected to yield the following outcomes upon its successful establishment:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1.\u2060 \u2060Generate evidence based information&nbsp;for policy and programmatic interventions through research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.\u2060 \u2060Enhanced technical expertise and knowledge&nbsp;through professional development activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3.\u2060 \u2060Advancement of Diagnostic Technology to ensure early detection of Nutrition Deficiency Diseases (NDDs) thereby reducing the NDDs and contribute towards achieving the national goal of Happy Drukyul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CoEN is expected to become functional from October 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/new.kgumsb.edu.bt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/WhatsApp-Image-2024-08-25-at-20.02.13-1024x630.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-239492\"\/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan (KGUMSB) in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and UNICEF starts an exciting yet challenging journey of establishing a Centre of Excellence for Nutrition (CoEN).
