(FNPH), Dr. Gyem Dorji \u2013 Lecturer, Faculty of Postgraduate Medicine (FoPGM) and two administrative officers of Faculty of Traditional Medicine and FNPH attended the 2nd<\/sup> International Conference on Health Sciences: A Multidisciplinary Integration for Innovative and Sustainable Health Care in Communities with the theme: Sustainable Health Care Integration and Innovation.<\/p>\n

The main objective of the visit to MSU was to make a presentation on Bhutanese Traditional Medicine during the panel discussion on \u201cRole of Traditional\/Alternative and complementary Medicine in Integrated Health Care Services\u201d in the third\/closing session of the conference. The other objective was to sign an agreement between the Faculty of Medicine, MSU and FoTM, KGUMSB to sign the Institutional Investigators Research Collaboration Agreement on \u2018Clinical research involving patients with memory complaint and early symptoms of dementia\u2019 and to discuss on the possibilities of signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two universities in the near future. The agreement for research collaboration between Faculty of Medicine and FoTM was signed during the second day of the conference.<\/p>\n

The team had an opportunity to meet many important and relevant officials during the conference from not only Faculty of Medicine, MSU, but from other renowned universities like the Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia, University of Northern Texas, USA and the Thailand Research Fund to name few.<\/p>\n

The Faculty of Medicine also arranged an appointment for the team to meet with the Hon\u2019ble President of MSU. On 23 November 2018, the team got the opportunity to meet the Hon\u2019ble President of the MSU Professor Dr. Sampan Rittidech and had a successful discussion regarding the collaboration between the two universities. The outcome of the visit was that the MSU and KGUMSB would be signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate in areas of student and faculty development and exchange programs, medical education and specialized training programs for health professionals. The MSU senior officials were all very supportive and forth coming to collaborate and help our university in human resource development.<\/p>\n
